Almighty Google?

How often do we use Google?

EVERY DAY!!

We use as a translator, calculator, to find a job, to email, to search methods and trends, to write a blog(!), and more.

Google has a strong power and influence over our lives.

How can we say that we are not addicted to Google?

Because we are addicted to Google, we lost and forget some important things.

First, we forgot to respect our time while talking to people in person.
For example, Ms. A and I were having an important conversation in person. Ms. A’s phone got an email notification. She checked it and asked me, “Can I make a quick phone call?”
5 minutes later she comes back and say “Where were we?” to continue the conversation.
It is hard to come back to the same conversation if you once got interrupted.
It is wired to think that making a phone call is more priority thing to do than to keep the conversation you had, but this is what is happening nowadays.

Second, we forgot how to focus on one thing.
I feel like I became busier since I start using Google. We don’t have to go to the library to look something up. Time we use to search something got shorter, but the number of stuffs we look up is increasing. Because there are so many links and advertising at Google, we click and scroll restlessly. We have to stop clicking and think what do we really have to know and what are we looking for.

Finally, we lost allowance.
Because we receive emails endlessly, we are addicted to check an email even if we don’t want to be. If we miss an important email, we will be going to be in trouble. This is how the world and society work right now. Because of that, some people feel fear or irritation. These feelings bottle us up. We use Google on the elevator, on the train, on the escalator, during the lunch… Almost everywhere!
We have to take a break from using Google and chill.

Google might have a lot of knowledge that we don’t have, but not always positive to use and to be addicted.

Thank you for reading!!
